Why UIC? 

The Department of Biological Sciences offers groundbreaking research leading to the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biological Sciences. Areas of research include cell biology, development, restoration ecology, general ecology, evolution, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, neurobiology, and plant biology. The Interdepartmental Concentration in Neuroscience is available to qualified PhD students.

MS students are only admitted with written support from a potential advisor and only for the E&E track. To apply for the MS degree program, you must communicate with your prospective advisor and the Graduate School Specialist, Beth Brand (bethann@uic.edu), before beginning your application.
