Welcome to Biological Sciences!

Are you interested in exploring the study of life in all its forms?  Biological Sciences offers a variety of programs to meet your educational goals and course needs.  We offer three different undergraduate programs. Our B.S. in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a Major in Biological Sciences includes a broad liberal arts education but with a focus on biological sciences. Our B.S. in Neuroscience offers a life sciences program targeted more on neuroscience. Our newest degrees, B.S. in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a Major in Integrated Health Sciences, offers a broad liberal arts education with an emphasis on health sciences.

Our graduate program offers a program leading to a Ph.D. or M.S. in Biological Sciences.

Our 28 tenure-track faculty and 9 non-tenure track faculty teach classes for our 1800 undergraduates as well as many other students on campus. Nearly 100 graduate students are working toward their degrees with our faculty as their mentors.

Arctic adventure through Northwest Passage
UIC students will be aboard a polar vessel for three weeks as part of the Northwest Passage Project, a historic, educational excursion across the remote Canadian Arctic.
