Hello, my name is Jamal Sheriff and I am a recent graduate from Purdue University Northwest with a B.S. in Biology. I have also spent the last 2 1/2 years working as an interpretive park ranger at the Indiana Dunes National Park. I am excited to be joining the Poretsky lab this fall! My research interests include further understanding the ecological and functional role of microbes in natural ecosystems as well as understanding how viral interactions with host species may influence ecosystem structure and functional output.
