Yury Polikanov’s pioneering research is published in Nature

This latest research paves the way for future development of a novel class of antibiotic drugs. Dr. Polikanov and his coauthors discovered how a new compound of this class, iboxamycin, binds to the ribosome of bacterial cells and kills antibiotic resistant pathogens in infected mice.
"A synthetic antibiotic class overcoming bacterial multidrug resistance” was published in Nature on Oct. 27, 2021.
