UIC Today reports on Poretsky Lab studying UIC swimmers to see how microbes affect athletic ability

UIC Today reported on inter-disciplinary, cross-campus research done by Dr. Rachel Poretsky (Biological Sciences), Dr. Craig Horswill (Applied Health Sciences) and PhD Candidate Jarrad Hampton-Marcell (Biological Sciences).

These researchers are using UIC swimmers as subjects to study diet, training, and changes in gut bacteria affects their athletic performance.
