Thom Park’s Science publication widely covered in national and international media

Thomas Park, Professor of Biological Sciences, led an international team of researchers from UIC, the Max Delbrück Institute in Berlin and the University of Pretoria in South Africa in research that was published in Science  The publication is titled “Fructose-driven glycolysis supports anoxia resistance in the naked mole-rat” (DOI: 10.1126/science.aab3896).
The research that found that naked mole-rats survive in zero-oxygen by metabolizing fructose like a plant.
