Mike Muller receives Teaching Recognition Program award for the third time
For the third time, Lecturer Mike Muller has received the Teaching Recognition Program award. A total of 23 TRP applications were submitted and reviewed by a group of colleagues who had received the TRP in previous years. 14 applicants received the award for 2015-2016. Multiple variables were considered including candidate statements, student feedback, peer reviews, course materials, mentoring of students, curriculum development and implementation of new pedagogies and methods. The group concluded that his “teaching is an excellent example of the high quality of instruction that characterizes the best of UIC”.
The Teaching Recognition Program (TRP) is UIC’s only campus-wide, self-nominated, faculty-administered teaching award program. It recognizes the teaching excellence of faculty at any of UIC’s teaching sites. The 2015-2016 TRP will grant awards of a $1,500 increment to annual base.
