Kevin Drew to join the Department of Biological Sciences in 2021

Kevin Drew

Kevin Drew will be joining the Department of Biological Sciences as Assistant Professor, Computational Biology, in Winter 2021. He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics from the New York University School of Medicine and is a post-doctoral, NIH Pathway to Independence Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Drew develops machine learning and data mining tools to discover macromolecular assemblies in high throughput proteomic experiments. His research has integrated heterogeneous protein interaction datasets using machine learning to build the most comprehensive and accurate human protein complex map. This map has been central to identifying novel disease genes, functionally annotating completely uncharacterized genes, and discovering altogether novel protein assemblies, in turn suggesting new uncovered cellular functions.
