Don Morrison publishes research on bacterial gene transfer
UIC issued a press release on the research done by Professor Don Morrison and his colleagues on the metabolic pathways in the bacterial cell that must be activated for the bacteria to become "competent," or able to acquire genes from DNA in the environment. The research focused on Streptococcus mutans, a strain involved in tooth decay. Click here to read the news release.
