BIOS Winners of Image of Research Competition
3rd Place Winning Image
Introduction
Congratulations to three BIOS graduate students for their 2026 Images of Research. Their images were chosen for the 100 submissions.
Mateo Valdiviezo (Keyhani Lab) won 3rd place in the Still Image Category for "Zombie Spiders: The Living Dead of the Web". Two BIOS graduate students received Honorable Mentions - Esther Tirmizi (Keyhani Lab) for "Eating Your Host: Fungal Diseases of Cicadas" and Yahya Najjar (Warpeha Lab) for "Nature's True Colors".
