Title: Itchy & scratchy: Adventures in itch and pain biology
Abstract: What causes itch?; Why does it feel so good to scratch an itch?; And, what causes itch and pain in the millions of people worldwide who suffer from eczema, or other skin disorders? Dr. Bautista will discuss the molecular and cellular mechanisms of itch and pain in homeostasis and disease, and share her career path, from Chicago to UC Berkeley.
